2007 Season Wraps Up With A Bang

The 2007 TRAC Tour season ended this past weekend, with a fun time had by all.

Saturday night saw a pig roast serving over 80 people with a feast of home-cooked dishes, then a music from a DJ and several karaoke performances (including some by a few racers!).

Sunday was a day full of action packed racing, ending with prize presentations to marshals and volunteers.

Points standings and results will be posted soon.

TRAC Tour would like to thank all those who made the 2007 season a success, including volunteers, racers, and spectators. We hope to see you back again next season. Stay tuned for details as they become available.

Also, please note that the 2007 ARMS Annual General Meeting will be held November 2-4 at the Fredericton Inn, in Fredericton, N.B. More information to follow.

Super Lapping/Work Day to be Announced

This past weekend, it was decided that there will be a track closing work day with lapping (alternating cars and motorcycles) in early October. Check back for details as they are announced.

August Driving School a Go

logoThe Driving School for this weekend, 25 August, is a go.
The event will run rain or shine.

I would ask entrants to be there no later than 8:00 am.
Find a paddock spot- unload your vehicle of all loose articles, drive it onto the Pit Lane (from the top of the paddock) and park it on the left side with the keys left in the vehicle. Vehicles will be scruntineered during the classroom session.

Final registration will occur at the Hilchie Building from 8-8:30 am.
Bring a lawn chair and set up for the classroom session which should begin no later then 8:30 am.

We'll do a track tour around 10:30-11:00 am and follow with individual instruction in entrant's vehicles. Speeds will be controlled in the morning and pick up after noon. Normally , the last hour or so is reserved for participants to fully explore the potential of their vehicles. Those entrants who have access to a prepared race car and safety gear will be allowed to mix in with the race car tuning and testing beginning at 3:00 pm.

There will be no formal lunch break. Since the Lunch Wagon will not be there on Saturday, participants are asked to bring their own food and drinks. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.

For those entrants that will be running on R-rated or race rubber, please change your tires prior to scrutineering. Basically the same procedure as in autoslalom and solosprint- present your vehicle in the competition state.

First Lapping Day of 2007 - June 23, 2007

Saturday, June 23 will be the first lapping day of the year. It will start at 10:00 am and go to 2:00 pm. It may be extended beyond that time depending upon conditions. Cost is $50 per driver. All the rules that have been previously published apply. Except one new one. If you are oberved driving too fast or without proper regard for conditions or to those around you on the roads approaching AMP you will not be allowed to take part. If you are observed leaving the track in a similar manner you will not be allowed to take part in future lapping days.

It is important that you have an up-to-date Lapping Card, Solosprint License or Race License to participate. Currently the only way to get a Lapping Card is to contact Dave Hull. Since the cards will be sent by mail it is critical for you to act quickly to ensure you have your card in your hand when you show up at AMP. Dave may not be at the track that morning or may be on the track lapping away when you show up and may not accommodate your wishes for a card.

Also, don't forget that you will need to be a member of an ARMS club to get a lapping card.

Atlantic Motorsport Park Gets Facelift for Upcoming Season

Atlantic Motorsport Park has been getting some much needed improvements for the upcoming season. These include: new curbing on many corners, patching of rough areas on the track surface, and a paved lane in the paddock between the pit entrance and exit.

Many volunteers showed up to lend a hand at a weekend work party to finish these projects, and prepare the track for the season ahead. Great appreciation goes out to all who volunteered their time.
